Highland Springs Ranch Styled Shoot

A “Styled Shoot” is a fabulous opportunity for an event designer to bring to life full scenes and dream images based totally on one’s own distinctive style.

Our Kari LaBomme of Pat Frey Designs has done just that with this fabulous shoot.

Enjoy!

01. DESIGN:

INSPIRATION IS KEY

For an event designer, there is inspiration everywhere; an interesting piece of fabric, the light through tree leaves, a certain kind of flower or even a beautiful person.

I had an idea dancing around in my universe of a wedding featuring rich green and mustard yellow in an organic setting; like warm summer with a romantic, vintage feel that I wanted to create.

02. VENUE + VENDORS

I teamed up with Christy from Christy Kendall Photography and we landed on Highland Springs Ranch and Inn as the perfect location to stage my design. The Ranch, with its lush olive groves, lavender fields, and ancient oak, is also a working USDA organic farm. Therefore we could highlight not only its diverse settings, but also create custom cocktails using their unique and flavorful farm produce.

With the location set, the real planning began, starting with creating my perfect vendor team. (See list below.) We loved everyone who collaborated with us for cake, rings, dress and suit, furniture, tableware, hair and makeup, our models, linens, and everything else that went into creating these stunning scenes.

03. SHOOT: FINISHING TOUCHES

Watching all the elements come together was continually inspiring.

From watching Pat produce the florals to Elsie making up our bride, Lily. The threat of afternoon rain wasn’t going to stop it all from becoming something beautiful.

And the pictures speak for themselves. Sweet, warm, wild, with models who did a brilliant job and a day that ended sharing Lemon and Lavender cake from Fantasy Frostings with a fantastic group of people who made my vision come to life!

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we did creating them.
