“Fil Rouge” – The Red Line

I recently met Cedric Chevalley, the fabulous French jewelry artist and sculptor.

I was inspired by his work and history and thrilled to be hired to plan the opening of his new Los Angeles showrooms.

Cedric for many years has been a supremely skilled award winning jeweler of stunningly beautiful custom designed rings of metals and gemstones – the brand “CBIJOU”.

More recently he launched into an entirely new line of jewelry and sculpture made from repurposed skateboards.

This totally unique brand he named, “Fuck Yeah!”

In our first planning session Cedric mentioned “fil rouge”, which translates to mean, “The red line”, ultimately “A common thread or guiding idea”.

I thought how fantastic to use this concept of red lines traveling through his earlier jewelry and art to his more recent skateboard pieces.

We did exactly that.

As his planner I laid out his skateboard art showroom and selected all the images to be printed and placed on his showroom walls.

We also hired The Kitchen for Exploring Foods to provide the unique and delicious light fare and Primo’s Donuts for a colorful donut wall.

A fun note: The donut wall went with Cedric’s skateboard art so completely that people didn’t think they could eat them. All in all it was a vibrant and fun evening.

We welcome Cedric to LA and his new adventure here in the US.

I highly recommend you visiting his site and his showroom:
